6 fresh quarts of Mobil 1 0w-40 into the 06 R last night. So that's an 8600 mile OCI, now at 150,000 on the odometer. Mann filter.
Not sending a sample to Blackstone, I'll use abscate's data.
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I started a Stage ZERO 2002 V70 X/C project. Confiscated the car form my kid for, not paying for repairs (got him a down payment on a new Kia..). I have done everything on this vehicle and need to clear a P0016 trouble code. This is minor after tackling a timing belt w/ VVT hub and no cam holding tool. Bought the tool. Bought another V70 for parts and seating. Also bought a JVC audio system. Planning on installing the spare tire 12" sub woofer and also turning the rear hatch into a set of Mid sub woofers. I am an old Biochemist, who decided a Volvo is better suited to retirement than a Work Truck (they would keep me working!).

I also use 0W-40 Castrol oil, really like this weight, great for cold winter start ups as well as for hot summer days with some engine revving. Wish I could use the 0W-30 Castrol which is supposedly even better, but it only sells by the pint making it too expensive for an oil change. With the 0W-40 I have no drop in oil level at the dipstick in between oil changes, and actually after doing the PCV and a SeaFoam treatment last year, I'm now past one year with the same oil and about 5000 miles on the oil (not much driving) and the oil is still clear as dark honey on the dipstick. I'm not sure when or why to change it (car is at 130K miles now)

They seem to be talking about some kind of Bosch pad but not one I recognize. People over here seem to agree there's no discernable difference between the big brand standard pads. I've never noticed a difference between cheap own brand pads and other pads when driving either. But we'll see in a few days when I've done the rears as well.
New pads are made in Spain, discs in China.
The ones I'm taking off are Zimmermanns which warped even though they were bedded in as per instructions. Just five months/15' km old up front and a year and 35' km in the back. Black really hard to clean brake dust as well. Not getting those again.

I found on my previous car Brembo discs and TRW pads worked well.
Cutted my old OEM key open today for the transponder and converted to the (albeit larger) flipkey I got cut this afternoon, and it all works yay!
And in my mailbox the parking strip detector (as recommended by oragex) arrived too, but its installation will have to wait mid-december

Not quite today but the last 3 weeks:
2006 Volvo V70 (140k+)
Vacuum hoses and TCV, from FCPEURO https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... e-30670448. Relocated underneath the intake tube to reduce the hose lengths, per Snabb suggestion.
Installed a dash cam and wired to the fuse panel.
Replaced the A trim pillars with plastic ones from a older Volvo. Fabric was hanging loose.
2006 Volvo XC70 (180k+)
Replaced evap pump, used the link on this forum. Purchased from FCPEURO the Bosch pump; Volvo Leak Detection Pump (S60 S80 XC90) - Bosch 30774518.Volvo Leak Detection Pump (S60 S80 XC90)
Bought the tool HIP 2000 387 Compound Action Side Jaw Pincer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IBA4SS0/re ... aCbH7YE531 to get the clamps on. No ECM-436B or CEL so far.
Cleaned the throttle body to get rid off ECM-120D. Idling much smoother. Replaced the lower inter cooler hose.
Replaced the vacuum hoses and TCV valve to rule out vacuum leaks. Access to the (red) hose to turbocharger is on an all wheel drive much easier when the intake tube has been removed. TCV valve relocated too, to reduce hose length.
Drives much better now. TCV was definitely not working right.
Found out that the XC70 had the wrong dip stick after I broke the handle off. Apparently this dip stick was meant for a V70 instead. Replaced it with a cheap Uro part from Amazon, but not quite sure if the markings are correct. Was planning copying the marks from the old one.
While I had the brace off I also modified the isolators, the brace is now sandwiched between 3/4 inch washers. Cheaper than replacing
Looking into doing the PCV job. Has anyone tried rebuilding crankcase breather pipe with this?
