Hello all
I have a '97 850 GLT with a 2.4 turbo. It was given to me by my uncle with a few issues, and now I plan on turning it into a daily driver. I removed the turbo today which I am going to rebuild as soon as the full rebuild kit shows up (found suggestions on who to buy the kit from on this site). And also removed the radiator and intercooler, since the radiator had a pinhole in the top and needs to be replaced.
As you might imagine, in this process I am finding a lot of rotten rubber, brittle plastic, and very old hoses. No time like the present to replace all of that stuff and do some preventative care.
I see one of the euro parts suppliers shows two types of vacuum hose, part numbers 976736, and 9480112. Both are sold by the meter. I don't see information about diameter of hose.
Can someone advise me on how much length of each type of hose to get to replace all the vacuum lines on the engine?
Also I have run across a few vacuum lines that have factory crimped metal clamps that don't appear to be able to release, but the hoses need to be replaced. Do I need to find small compression type hose clamps to fit here like most of the other vacuum lines? Would it work to just attach a new line without a clamp?
Thanks in advance for any help I can get!

Vacuum hoses don't need clamps but the jubilee type don't work too well on small hoses in my experience
You can get Oetiker or spring types cheaply from your FLAPS

Ok thanks for the tip.
I called the place and found out that part number 976736 is 12mm O.D. and 6mm I.D.
and part number 9480112 is 10mm O.D. and 6mm I.D
Was hoping that they were different I.D.s but that is not the case.
I think I am just going to bring a selction of what I need to a local store and get SAE hoses that are as close as I can get. I'm spoiling it with factory parts everywhere else so it won't suffer. Plus, if the SAE is just a little too small, maybe I can get away with ditching all the clamps. Haha dont think it works that way, but I will let you all know what I come up with.

If you use silicone lines you can ditch the clamps on all of the small vac lines, use zip ties instead.

Thanks for the input from everyone. And thanks abscate for informing me of the name of Oetiker clamps. Had seen them often but didn't know what they were called.
Just thought I would update the thread with what I did. I used about 5 ft of 1/8" hose, bought 1 ft of 1/4" line but didn't use it all, 4 ft of 5/16" hose but didn't use it all, 2 ft of 3/8" hose but didn't use it all.
All of them fit slightly too snug. It was a struggle to get most of them hooked up, especially the small ones. I consider myself a mechanic not a DIYer (yes, even though I was putting SAE onto metric) so that says something of how tricky it was. When I do the job over again soon, I will wish I got the right sized hoses the first time!
I was able to scrouge enough spring type clamps from other projects that I used in place of Oetiker type clamps. Some connections I didn't bother with clamps since it was such a dang struggle to get them on in the first place!
Car runs great though, just took it out for a drive today!

You don't need clamps on vacuum hoses since vacuum sucks them on. With a turbo, though, you have to be careful where some hoses can see boost pressure even if they are " vacuum " hoses
Oetiker hoses used to be made by the OETTINGER family buy they moved the factory from Iowa when there wheel bearings failed, then changed the name to avoid Iowa potatoes.
I think I got that story right. Check it on Snopes though.
