I recently purchased a 2012 S60 T5 with a blown VIN 62 engine. I am wondering if I can swap it with 2013 S60 T5 VIN 61 engine.

Hi,
I posted this follow up for anyone searching for the same information I was. I ended up having to buy a similar used engine as 2012 is NOT compatible with any other year. I did the engine swap myself with the part-time help of a friend and minimum tools. It took me 3 weekends and now she is running smooothly. I do NOT trust the engine however as I believe there is a design flaw that will ultimately cause the demise of the replacement. Sadly Volvo is not what it used to be.

You didn't say what happened as "blown" engine is as specific as "got sick". To keep the new engine alive change the oil every 5K or more often if short trips are a regular use of vehicle. I post this often but I see vehicles daily that needed oil changed more often than the light or message comes on, i.e., more often than standard factory recommendation, to prevent what it needs repaired now. All brands. Loss of coolant through impact or failed plastic fittings is high on the list. Another is serpentine belt throwing timing belt or getting into engine and causing timing chain failure (yep, that last one is hard to believe but it also happens on occasion).
