My1990 740 turbo wagon develops a significant miss when the fuel gets to about 1/4 tank. Thi occurs mostly when accelerating but will do it sporactically when driving fairly steady. Filling the tank cures the problem!

Check your in-tank fuel filter. I had the same problem with a '77 240 and an '82 240DL. Luckily I haven't had it with my '94 940 ...yet.
