2000 S70 - Mass Air Flow sensor, can't fully remove it!

Post by brian_kearney410 »

Hi, Getting the Check Engine light and AutoZone's computer reads the 'clean the MAF sensor' code. I've been able to disconnect the MAF from the air filter housing, and after loosening the tension screw on the other side of the MAF, the unit just rotates. I don't want to pull too much - how else can I get to the sensor to clean it?

Thanks very much,
Brian

No one actually removes it from its round holder....spray into the sensor from the outside...and don't touch it. I hope by rotating it you haven't already fubarred it.

I just remove the sensor from the housing. I'm not sure how that housing clamps on anyways...it should come out, but it's not worth breaking the intake hose for when the sensor just unscrews with a safety torx anyways.

Oh, now I get it...don't pull straight out....push down on it like you're trying to break a stick at the point where it goes in. It will come out.
