So today I did a few things to my S70. First I washed it two times to get all the dust from the fireworks and many bird droppings of the paint. Then I clayed and polished the entire car. See the pictures of the clean and dirty clay. It's so weird to see the clay that dirty after washing the car two times thoroughy. Below two pictures of the clay. When I clayed the bonnet the clay turned yellow, when I clayed the roof it just turned dark grey. Now everything is smooth as a mirror.

Then I got a call that my ordered battery arrived. The shopowner was so kind to call me and told me he placed the new battery on a smart charger since new batteries that arrive are only for 70% charged (that's got something to do with safety regulations). So at the end of today, I will replace the battery that's that :-)

Thanks, but I need a FWD axle. I have an M56 in the car currently.

I'm going to try once again to get the aftermarket axle installed with the proper circlip today, but if that doesn't work I'm going to have to see if this local junkyard still has an axle available like it shows online. Junkyards listing parts on car-part.com tend to not keep up with their inventory!

Trying to track down the source of my slow coolant leak. Had the car idling for 30 minutes while I was under it, and could not find a single drip. I can smell antifreeze from behind the engine near the turbo and heater hoses.

Also once again trying to track down the intermittent short in my fog lights. They've been running for an hour now... yay. How on earth are these things wired up?

A slow leak will just leave white residue, no dampness.

Gave up on the fog lights, still working. Must be a just a sliver of insulation missing causing a short when I hit a bump a certain way. That or water is getting into somewhere. They always decide to work as soon as I pull out the multimeter and probe.

Mixed up another 2 gallons of 50/50. Should last me quite a while.

Cool, Abscate!
Glad to hear you found yet another project car.

I got my V70XC through inspection today.
I got one remark: The right headlight just barely passed inspection, so I'll be looking for a new set.

Took a trip to the junkyard for an axle and ended up coming home with some other goodies. A good C70 auto dimming mirror, leather e-brake handle, and an egg crate grille for my cousin's V70. Not what I went there for, but I'd consider it a successful trip!
Let me know if anyone's interested in those parts!

Also washed the GLT and realized how badly scratched my paint is. I'm going to need to polish it up soon.

Was evaluating my timing belt, since it's been ~70k miles. Found slight play in the water pump pulley and the hydraulic tensioner is badly rusted. Time to order a timing kit from FCP before the sale ends.
