Hi,
A friend of ine has a 1990 740 GL non Turbo
Florida
230k on the clock
He went out of town for two weeks and the car sat at his residence.
Upon his return the car would not start.
He thought it was the battery.... So he took it to get tested and they said it was OK but he bought a new one.
New battery installed and it still will not start... No click... no lights, no power, no nothing....
The battery being new he should of at least had the horn, stereo, lights etc.
My thought there is an interruption in the system.
Could there be a Ground issue with this car?
How can I help him troubleshoot this condition to get the car up and running again?
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
As all your previous answers have been extremely helpful since I started reading this web site.
Thank you.
Eric

Get Tracy Martin's "How ti diagnose and repair automobile electrical systems". With that and the electrical wiring diagrams for the car I have been able to figure out each and every electrical problem that I have come up against. You can get his book on amazon, the wireing diagrams you can get from volvo tech publications....
