Cvt exhaust cam hub

Post by Sentry1974 »

First post here. New to Volvo. I recently purchased a 2005 V70 2.5 T AWD.
The car is thowing the timing codes P00016/17 I believe. Timing is out runs, but rough. I have done all the research about cam lock and hub set. Pretty sure I understand. Now my Exhaust CVT feels bad. Lots of play and rough rotation.
While I am there I want to change it out.
My question is, I have access to an Intake CVT from a S60 naturally aspirated 2.5l. Would it work on the exhaust cam of the V70? Trying to save some money as a new CVT is about a third of the price I paid for the car. Am I crazy to think this would work? Hopefully I am posting in the correct place.

There is an ongoing thread on this topic VVT, cam seals (Brand: Volvo or Corteco only).

Intake is different from Exhaust VVT.

A brand-new VVT is about US $250 or so.
