 Ouch!

Well, the scale said 4,160 with me, my two cousins (who are both on the heavier side) and my usual tools and whatnot in the car. So not too shabby! The car weighed just shy of 4,800 when I pulled in... it's a miracle it wasn't rubbing in the rear!
But a wagon with this kind of space weighing only 3,400ish pounds... I love how light these P80s are.

They're quite normal or even a bit on the heavy side compared to similar sized cars everywhere outside the US ;-)

P80 wagons has a tax weight of somewhere about 1500 kg with driver and fuel in Sweden.
P2 1600-1700 kg depending on model, AWD or not etc
P3 1800-1900 kg.

Yeah, Americans like heavy cars for some reason. Most other wagons like this are a bit heavier than a P80... Saab 9-5, BMW 5 series, Mercedes E class...
I just like that it's below 3,500 pounds. Keeps it from being too heavy to enjoy the stock power of the light pressure turbo!

If you look at same generation cars, Saab 9000 or 5 the E34 5 series they're quite similar. The Germans heavier but not too much. The 9-5 and P2 V70 match pretty well. They were also each other's main competitor then and designed only about 100 km apart.

That's true, but there was never a Saab 9000 wagon. The E34 wagon would count since the 850s were around since '93 (or '92 in Europe). Either way, they're light cars compared to what's around today. My cousin has a 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and it weighs a little more than a P80 V70. That's pretty crazy! Meanwhile my 2000 Miata weighs in around 2,200 pounds, and can carry the same amount of people and cargo as the Genesis (back seats in the Genesis are absolutely useless, he took them out).
They were also each other's main competitor then and designed only about 100 km apart.
And not to mention, both excellent cars!

Looks like a beautiful day for that down there! I'm not looking forward to the next week of rain and overcast they're forecasting here.

Yes HOT! My teen daughter has been glued to her phone! I'm having a blast and wish all you fellow Volvoers were here too. Husband does not allow face photographs online so I did erase her face sorry for that. June
