Hello all,
While slowly bringing my 1998 S70 back to life I have determined that I have a leaking PS pump. Reservoir is getting low, and dirty oil all around/over the alternator area, etc. There is no howling noise or anything, but I figured it was just easier to replace the unit. I have acquired a rebuilt unit with a reservoir, but it does not, of course, have the pulley installed. In searching I can't find a good write up on R&R'ing the pulley, it seems most people go used with pulley attached or pay a shop to do it.
The only reference I've found was to the OEM Volvo tool (part number 9995737), or a solitary post for a Lisle 39000 from Amazon.
Is there a definitive answer on doing this procedure that I'm missing, or is it just not something that's done that often?
Lastly, is there a different solution other than replacement? Should I just be looking at the seal to the reservoir and the pressure return o-ring?
Thanks in advance everyone!

Are you sure the pump is leaking and it's not just the reservoir cap? I thought mine was leaking, dirty ATF everywhere, but I cleaned it up to see where the leak was. Turned out it was all just sloshing out of the cap.

OK, so absolutely no doubt about it, the Lisle 39000 is the way to go!!!
Took about 5 minutes to figure out how the tool worked, but once I did, I have the old pulley off in about 30 seconds using my cordless impact wrench. Putting it back on required about 2-3 minutes of hand tightening. AWESOME tool. Unfortunately it's $47, but it made the job so simple it was well worth the cost...
