passenger air bag warning plus

Post by 1cinders »

Bought a used as is 2005 s40 T5 one month ago. Upon driving it home the check engine light came on. Thought perhaps it was the gas cap. Had it turned off at Auto Zone. Replaced gas cap with a new one. Light came back on. Cleaned the car. Took it for a ride and the passenger air bag warning light came on. Could I have disturbed a wire? Taking it in tomorrow for service. Want to be somewhat knowledgeable when they hit me with what the problem(s) are. Beautiful car, but I'm a little nerved out about the Christmas tree effect on the dash. Some insight would be much appreciated.

Our check engine light also came on this morning. According to the trusty scanner (icarsoft) 't was the fuel cap and, sure enough, it was loose. Refit, cleared the code and check engine light is off. Phew!
