Dim Module

I have a 2011 S60 T6 and the audio output from the DIM (for all the various alarms/ alerts etc.) has gone.
All other functions & displays are ok.
Volvo service is asking for the DIM to be renewed, which needless to say costs a lot.
I hope that the problem could be the speaker or something that can be repaired.
Could anyone please give me a procedure for safe removal of the DIM. I have not done that before.

I recently replaced my DIM with a same-year one from an S80 (I have a 2004 S60 2.5T, donor was a 2004 S80 T6) and it works fine but it retained the LOWER mileage from the donor car. Wondering if there is a way to make it pick up the correct mileage from the DIM? I would prefer to have the correct mileage display rather than the incorrect but lower mileage. I just purchased a VIDA/DICE unit, waiting for it to come in now. Can it be done with this? Thanks.

I don't think Vida will do it. But yes, it can be done. There are some Ebay sellers that will do it when they get a DIM for repair.

On the other hand I'm curious, do the numbers on the DIM match between your car and the donor one? As it seems the two cars have different engines

It's not good video actually. After this repair procedure DIM will work not more than couple month I guess. This is from my experience.
You can trust me, I have a good knowledge about it. ))
