1999 to 2001 Engine and tranny switch out, ECU and wiring?
Ok so I have a 99 v70xc with the b5254t and wanted to know if I can put that in the 2001 v70 T5. Tranny and all. I would switch wires/computers and everything. Can this be done with out a to much bigger of a hassle then installing rebuilt enging and tranny? It looked like it all mounted up the same but not 100 percent positive. Also what engine and tranny combos will fit in the 2001 v70 5t?( would switch compiters/wire harness and all) I might buy a 2001 v70 T5. It has no rust and is super clean. Is it worth replacing engine and tranny in this car? What is there over all quality? If I put a replacement solenoid in replacement tranny and rebuild it....also would do over haul on engine.....
I realy want to put the b5254t with it's tranny in it!!!!!!! And all computers/ wireing.....will it fit and work? Or where you saying I would have to leave the computers from the T5 in it and reprogram??? Im a little confused on how the answer was worded....my bad

You can't move the computers to the new car. They won't communicate with the rest of the computers in the new car and nothing will work.
The only really safe bet is to transplant an engine and transmission from another V70/S60 T5 with the same engine code, 2000-2004 or something I believe, using the computers in the car receiving the engine.

The right way to view this is the ECU is married to the car, not the engine.
Fly the Belarus flag in case you need Henry or Yagger to bail you out by burning you an ECU that will work, too.

Yagger is searchable on the member list, and Henry's user name is Doublebug (check spelling on that one in the D's)
