99 c70 2.4 t5 electrical ground
my car has a ground that comes and go's at random. more in the summer and less in the winter. when it happens the brake, abs, and the traction control lights will come on , the speedomiter will go blank and the radio will dim slightly. this happens quite often in the summer and not so bad in the winter. the check engine light stays on do to the speed sensor failer and the shift light sometimes comes on as well do to the fact that sometimes when the speedsensor failer the tansmission doesnt shift right.does antone know where I can look for the ground.

It's probably the ignition swith.
These DO go bad and cause all sorts of wierd problems as you describe.
You just have to replace the outer switch not the entire tumbler and key, not too expensive.

I thought about the ignition and it just didn't make any sense to me and then on the other hand we have the guy who says his car had the same problems with his car EXCEPT for the radio dimming(in which was a very noticeable thing on my car)and was diagnosed with a bad abs module, but not fixed at the time. I ponderd those two ideas and since my car has an after market alarm with remote start I thought that has to be conected the the ignition somehow. them I saw what the abs module was cosisted of cellinoids. i'm not much of auto mech even though I've done tons of stuff on my C70, my old 850 and my girls mercery, but I am a maitenance mech and I know cellinoids do stuff like that when they mess up. I finally new enough to take it in so I took it to fields volvo and tool them what I thought . they checked it and they didn't know if that was the problem for sure ,but they said it was a good place to start at a price of $1,500.00 thats alittle too much not to be garunteed. then I talk to richmond volvo,tx(myswedishparts)and they said it had to be the asb module.so I bought the module from IPD for $300 after corecharge and did it my self. it was the module ,but the module it self was fine. one of the 10 cellinoids had white powder on it(oxidation)not much ,but enough to stump meny mechanics.
