Considering buying an S70 with some seat damage

Post by wrybread »

I'm considering buying an S70 with 101k miles and good service records. The only issues I see are to the interior, see attached pics.

I'm wondering how hard that split on the side of the driver's seat is to repair?

And it looks like there's a bit of damage from a dog to the wood trim and glove box.

Thanks for any tips.

You may be able to have it repaired by an upholsterer. I bought good used driver's seat leather on ebay, but it cost something like $300 for the seat back and bottom.

Upholstery shop for the seat.
The trim can be found in pick n pull yards. You just need to check often and move quick when a P80 X70 comes in.
You can buff light scratches out of plastic trim and scuff marks out of Vinyl.

Dirty greasy floor mats:
1. Hang them on the wall at a car wash.
2. Soak with engine/tire degreaser setting.
3. Let soak as you wash the car.
4. Power rinse the floor mats, until the grime is out and the water runs clear.
5. Put the floor mats in a plastic tote.
6. Take them home, hang them up and let them drip dry.

If that’s a charcoal seat I have a skin that will fit with modification for the two knobs. I’ll check condition and post pix, but I’m away from it for a few days

You might be able to see it in my “ seat reskin thread” from two years ago? The bottom was much worse than the seatback

It’s about two hours to remove and replace a skin

Argggh...mine was blown just like yours, sorry
