The Wagon Queen Family Truckster sold for $91,000.00!

Beverly D'angelo's personal Wagon Queen Family Trickster sold 3 weeks ago for $91K at auction. For those of you who don't know who Beverly D'angelo is, she is Ellen Griswold on all the Vacation movies. The wagon is from the first movie National Lampoon's Vacation from 1983. The Wagon Queen Family Truckster is probably the only non Volvo car I would own. For the novelty naturally

The designer is the same guy who designed the original Batmobile among a pile of famous movie cars. Even the police car in Alfred Hitchcock's North By Northwest with a special aluminum front so as not to plow through the Mercedes Benz it rear ended in the movie

Anyway I thought it was quite interesting how much money her personal wagon sold for. Especially since it was not in the movie?! My hats off to who bought the biggest joke of American excesses in late 1970's automotive world. June

Notice the Griswold's other car was a sensible Volvo! And no over the top car could be complete without a airbag! LOL June

Wow, that's a lot of money. I'm unemployed now, so I think I'll spend all my savings and won't be able to afford even a toy car.

1979 302 backed by C6! As indestructible as a 240 almost! The original five cars were made from 1979 Ford Country Squire wagons. This variable venture carburetors had issues with non detergent fuel of the time. Premium name brand fuel was the fix back then. Now all fuel has detergent to prevent gummy carbon . I always wanted a Wagon Queen Family Truckster! It sure would get attention! Imagine 8 halogen headlights! Must have been crazy for oncoming traffic
