2004 V70 unsynchronized locks

Post by greentea »

Hi. I have a 2004 V70 that was recently in a crash that caused it to have to have its trunk lid replaced. The trunk lids were swapped, and everything fits fine, but the car's locks are out of sync. When I lock the car's four doors, the trunk lid unlocks. When I unlock the trunk lid, I lock the car's four doors. Has anyone encountered this? I have a VIDA tool and looked around in it, but didn't see anything about synchronizing the locks.

There are to wires, Green and Yellow, controlling the direction of the tailgate lock motor.
Did they get switched when the tailgate was replaced ....

I didn't see a green wire in the harness running to the actuator. There were two yellows, a gray and a pink. It looked like inside the actuator there was a green wire. Overall it didn't look like anything had been disturbed as far as the wiring harnesses.

GR = Gray .... GN= Green. :roll:

One of the yellows and the gray are the motor
It unlocks by pushing current one way.
It locks by pushing current the other way.

The pink is the rear anti-theft ground loop.
The other yellow is 6/37 Lock motor, fuel filler cover.

I don't know how those wires got switched initially, but I switched them back, and it fixed it. Thanks again.
