I have a '94 850 wagon turbo with about 103K miles on it. I bought it last spring and now have had my first experience with driving on snow and ice. I hit the winter button (which I understand puts it in 3rd gear) and the TRACS button. I got around okay but it was hard to tell if the TRACS was working. Going up a slick hill from a dead stop the TRACS makes a fairly loud humming/chattering noise. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Joe
Is TRACS normally noisy?

Yes. The TRACS uses the ABS system. It is stopping the wheel which has lost its grip.the TRACS makes a fairly loud humming/chattering noise. Is this normal?
