I'm back to Volvo, new too me 2007 C70

Post by howie »

Hello all,
I pulled the trigger yesterday on a 2007 C70 one owner 86K on the clock. I have been in the BMW world but my heart is in Volvo and I have 2 kids going to college soon so high end Bimmers are out for a few years but I got a beautiful loved C70 that I am sure to love.

The biggest thing I have to get taken care of is bluetooth integration or a new head unit, I will browse the forums but if anyone could help link me to a lengthy thread I would appreciate it. I won't take delivery for a couple of weeks so I have time to get things in order.

Cheap option: FM modulator. <-what I do. Works mostly fine to play mp3 music.

Good option: http://www.volvotech.eu/c70/C70-2006-2013 <-what I'd like, but it's expensive.

Complex/unstable option: GROM. <-requires activation at dealer, needs your CD unit to be disabled.

Thanks,
I think I found a great option that the retro modders use and that is a simple Bluetooth unit that plugs into the aux in.

I didn't think of that one, as I am not as lucky to have an aux-in port in my car. If you do, yes: that's probably the best way to go.

I just did this myself in my 2009 S40 (with AUX port). Here's an overview of my setup: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=89615#p508347

Cheers.
