Fuel Pump Recall on S60 Good for V70?

Volvo has issued this recall on the S60:

Campaign Number: 07V152000 Date: 2007-Apr-05

Component: Fuel System, Gasoline: Delivery: Fuel Pump
Defect Summary: ON CERTAIN VEHICLES ORIGINALLY SOLD IN OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN THE STATES OF ARIZONA AND NEVADA, DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF FUEL QUALITY AND CLIMATE CONDITIONS, THE FUEL PUMP MAY, IN CERTAIN CASES, EXPERIENCE A REDUCED FUNCTIONALITY. THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS WOULD BE FUEL ODOR.
Consequence Summary: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Corrective Summary: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING MAY 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.

Our V70 has this leak and odor around the gas tank. We are going to the dealer this afternoon to discuss this with the Service Manager. Are the S60 and V70 using the same fuel pump so that we might talk him into extending this recall to our V70? We live in a very warm climate in the Southern California desert not far from Arizona.

We picked up the V70 from our dealer today. $750+ for the new fuel pump installed. He contacted the Volvo regional rep but he wouldn't honor the recall out on these fuel pumps. They had to keep it an extra night to clean up some gas spillage. Then the car smelled like Clorox. No longer though. It now smells like gasoline. In addition, the fuel gauge stopped working on the way home. Looks like another example of a dealer mechanic who doesn't know what he's doing.

Anyone know what rights we have? If this gas odor gets in the leather I'm not sure we can get rid of the odor.

Go back and complain loudly. If this doesn't do it ask to speak to the regional rep.
