i have a 2002 XC-70 and my inside door opening lever stopped working.
is there a trick to poping out the plastic holders without busting them.

"Detach the side piece handle at the bottom edge. Use a weatherstrip tool."
That's it. It looks like you insert a blunt piece of plastic under the bottom edge and gently push up whilst easing it out.

If it's like mine the plastic clips each have a center pin that you push which allows the prongs to release from the hole in the door. When my insde latch quit I took of the inner door panel and was able to reattach the linkage to the back of the handle. Took about 20 minutes total.
