Door handle not engaging

I changed my driver side handle because it broke and it worked for awhile but now my handle won't engage. I have to jerk it a bunch of times for it to open. I bent the rod that hooks onto the handle to give it less throw and that worked for awhile but then it started doing it again.

Is it the shitty aftermarket handle or is it something else?

get a used one from the back door of a car since its been used less. . 960 same up to 95. oil every thing while in there. these are a weak point for volvo.

Ill give it a try, hopefully it was just a shitty aftermarket handle and not the actuator or something
