shift knob problem

Post by dobriduh »

Does anyone have a problem when trying to put gearshift in PARK mode but the knob does not pop out and gets stuck inside?

I decided to replace the whole thing because it is getting worse every day and takes several minutes now to pull out the knob manualy.

I found this replacement gearshift knob on ebay so I am wondering what do you guys think and is there anybody who did this?

Thanks

Sure, it would probably work. When mine gets stuck like that (about once ever other year), I spray a bit of WD-40 in it where the button is and it's good for another 2 years.

I guess I will try your recipe first and do the spray thing. It's less costly and also I am not confident how I am suppose to remove the knob anyway.

I read here that one should just uproot the shiftknob stick with considerable force? I am terrified that I will break the thing apart...
