If following helps, this is emission code 2 diagram:

I assume hose 1 Is from the purge valve to the bottom of the intake manifold? Interesting that I had the small connective hose from the plastic Tubing to the IM replaced since it had a break in it. I know there was not a nipple or round connector right before the IM, at least not since the alternator change- attaching a pic, you can see the after market rubber hose connecting to the IM - no round plastic nipple thing like on the end near my purge valve
Here is the other end connecting to the purge valve
I wonder if a part of the hose is now missing near the IM - it seems weird to me that the direction on the white plastic thing is pointing towards the purge valve, would this point the other way towards the IM?maybe another C30 owner can check both ends between the purge valve and where the tube connects under the IM???

The evaporator pipe pn 30751987 (item #1) is apparently used in two styles, emission code 2, and code 4/5.
FWIW, here is a diagram of code 4/5:

OK - think I finally have her solved! When the alternator was removed (along with air box, etc). The entire purge valve hose must have become disconnected - and it was re installed backwards! The arrows pointing back towards the valve were a clear indicator, plus a snapshot below of the hose showing the grey bulb clearly indicates it is attached under the intake manifold.
I have reversed my hose to match the picture with the direction on the bulb now towards the IM instead of back into the valve itself.
Praying this resolves the issue but it logically makes sense.
Will advise back if problem persists but fingers crossed
