1998 Volvo V70R

People I need some input. Is a one family owned 1998 V70R, saffron, 112,000 miles, supposedly in excellent, needs timing belt done worth $2500.

Yes.

However this car will not be cheap to own, several things are likely to come up across the next 50,000 miles. If you can DIY, then no problem I am talking about routine and fairly easy jobs, but that cost am arm and a leg for a shop to do.

I've be doing my own work on my '94 850 NA. I realize this is a totally different beast, not familiar with turbo at all. Never have done timing belt but doesn't look that bad to do thanks to all the how to's on this great site. Is this saffron color rare or considered desiresable? Looks pretty funky to me. Waiting to hear back from owner for time to look at. Thanks for your input

Bit pricey but if the engine is dry and it drives well go for it. Timing belt is 10 years overdue btw

Glenn, my take on the T5 and R models is they are either babies or totally thrashed, no in between
