1997 960 Solar Sensor fault code 161

Post by CoOlCat »

Ok I'm new, I couldn't find any threads on this, what the heck is a solar sensor, google tells me nothing, I am no mechanic, but very mechanically inclined. But I can't find any info on a solar sensor...I don't get very good air flow from my vents, I feel cool air, but it's faint on max. What's going on...what's a solar sensor and why can't I find any info on it?

Thanks in advance...sorry if this sounds stupid.

It’s part of the climate System. It senses the heat from the sun and adjusts the AC to keep the cabin temperature at the set point

If you aren't putting a light on the sensor then that code will be present. It will be gone with no erasure action once an incandescent flashlight is shined on it.
