1997 Volvo 850R Wagon for sale - Original owner, SF area, $3000

Hello everyone,

I am the original owner of a Belgium built 1997 850 R wagon. Color white w/ charcoal interior. It has approximately 120k miles.

The car served my family well and was a blast to drive. A few years back one cylinder had lost compression, which turned out that a tiny piece of one valve had broke off, right at the valve seat. It did not cause any visible damage to the cylinder, head or turbo. Was kind of a fluke.

I cleaned most of the carbon off of the pistons. Cylinders look good. Could still see the original honing. (changed oil often) I had the head machined (new valve and complete valve job) which is still off. I have all of the new parts for the install (factory) which includes head gasket, head bolts, lifters and most of the related parts that would be required having that mileage. New pcv box, heater hoses, timing belt kit including water pump. Some aftermarket parts already installed like Samco hoses and IPD strut brace, braided brake lines and Bilstein struts. Also have a later model V70 exhaust manifold and new front brakes still in boxes. Turbo was rebuilt at around 90k miles.

It has the original wheels and the interior is in pretty decent shape for it's age. The wheels have curb hacks (from the wife) Has the original paint with a few minor dings and scratches. Front spoiler has a couple of cracks. With some minor repairs and some elbow grease it can be brought back to its original glory.

I have too many other projects going and would rather see it go to someone that appreciates the car for what it is. Remember, only 500 of these were made.

Looks like I moved out of the bay area 20 years too soon, would love to finish this project car and get it back on the road as a daily driver.
