Strange problem with transmission. Fault TCM-012B neutral control

Hello,

I have a problem with automatic transmission in my V70,2.4T,2001r.
In a past few days i get the error TCM-012B with yelllow indicator and information „Transmission service req...”
The car still goes well. I notice problem only when i want to start from 0, on D there is a much less power and sometimes car wont move on D, afrer loosing break pedal.
I know is a problem with neutral control and in polish volvo forums i found information that update the transmissiom software (when this neutral control option will be deactivated) and change the fluid could help.
Have anybody have similar problem?

There is some chance that this fault means that the transmission could be damage or it soon be over?:(
This transmission had a renovation in 250000 km, the car right now have a 320000km.
Dont want to invest to dynamic fluid change and software update if i dont have sure if thats will help.

You didn't say how dirty was the fluid? Dynamic fluid change I take it to mean a machine flush? Clear the codes and just do a drain and fill and see if it improves or fixes the problem. That's the quick, cheap and dirty way to access your problem if the fluid is dirty.

At 200K miles and depending on the overall condition of your car it's a juggle to decide how much to spend to keep it going as long as possible.

Most 2001 had the neutral stop software removed by the dealers. Try a fluid drain and fill, not a dynamic flush , to see if helps first.
