2006 C70

Post by Rubem »

Only 75 k miles...

Full of issues!
Already changed rear chocks, battery and fuel sensor.

Heats up and cools while going or at a red light stop.

Water lowers but no leak visible .
Oil Ok.
No spots on the ground.

Check engine light on forever.

Had a code at MIDAS for exhaustion system...
Smells somewhat as exhaustion is perforated.

Starts but shakes (likely engine intermittent), plus dies suddenly and/or won't start after turn off... takes several tries to start again.

Auto mechanics are feasting on me!
One said it should be the catalytic converter...

Help!!!

Do you mean the temperature gauge is going beyond half way? Coolant disappearing is not normal. If no external leak visible, a combustion gas test needs to be performed to rule out a bad head gasket. Catalytic converter will not cause the coolant level to lower or engine to overheat. June

The coolant is probably smothering the engine combustion. The liquid is around $8 to $10 dollars. You can borrow/loan the bulb kit from O'Reilly or Advance Auto. Forgot to return mine so it's mine as you pay for it in full and get a complete refund with you return it.

Testing for Bad Head Gasket or Cracked Head or Block

This guy is pretty good
