850 seat skin replacement

Post by Klausc »

I am just wondering if anyone tried to replace 850 seat skins with some from a newer Volvo, like a 2005 V70 or from an S80? I replaced the 1995 seat with a 1998 seat, but the seat bottom is getting thin.

I would love to replace the entire seat, realizing that the side air bag would not deploy. The Pick&Pull in my area charges about $35 for a complete seat, but is over an hour away. I don't know if the anchor points are the same or if the seatbelt attachment point to the seat frame will transfer like the 1998 seat.

There are no more 850's in the yard, and 1998 S/V70's are getting pretty scarce. I cannot justify getting new seat skins for $450/seat.

If I had a larger garage, I could have more Volvos.

You can swap skins from any p80 and also swap sides if you find a good passenger skins
Very minor skin trimming required for the swap.
