I really want to pick up the battery powered Dewalt XR stubby impact. Thing has ridiculous breakaway torque for running on a battery, and I can use it anywhere. Hoping I can find it on sale this weekend. The $400+ price tag is a bit much to swallow for one tool.

I have two obsessions... cars and tools. And Volvos could be thrown into cars as a sub-obsession
I love new tools!
brunocerous wrote: 29 Aug 2019, 09:57 That's one chewed-up engine mount! It's so satisfying to see. I can only imagine how much more satisfying it was to swap it out, especially with the new compressor! :)
Oh yeah, it was bad! My steering doesn't grind anymore... just need to top off the fluid and that should be fixed hopefully!

It's very satisfying to have a compressor that gives my impact the power to zip bolts right out without any effort! I love this thing. I took off the two front wheels earlier to bring to get tires mounted and the compressor didn't even have to kick on... before I'd get through two wheel bolts and the old Central Pneumatic 17 gallon would be running, and practically making my ears bleed. I don't even mind if this one is running... it's so quiet!

The Dewalt impacts are really good, I wouldn't mind one for myself. I usually prefer cordless impacts to pneumatic, but I have this Earthquake XT stubby air impact that I bought for a crank bolt on my 740 and I rarely use it due to the compressor situation. Fortunately I'll be able to get a lot more use out of it now, it's extremely useful for things like crank bolts and other fasteners in tight quarters.

I really want to get more Milwaukee impacts, I really like their lineup. I have a regular old M18 1/4" impact driver that I use all the time. Not to mention my M12 ratchet... that's something everyone should have! But their stubby M12 impacts are really cool, and have a good amount of torque for a little 12 volt. They're a little pricey though.

I'm sure someone has some good tool sales this weekend though... I got the compressor yesterday since it was the last day of that sale, now it's up to $309 (I paid $261 before tax with a discount for being a floor model).

Quick question unworthy of its own thread. Do esthe V70 under bonnet insulation fit the 850s? 850 ones that aren't shredded are seemingly impossible to come by, whereas V70 ones are much more readily available.

Clip locations look similar, dimensions of hood are the same as far as I'm aware, same engines etc, so I feel like it should fit?

I use an old bose blue tooth speaker. Works great with my toolbox that has a power strip in it. I end up playing youtube videos while I work or listen to podcasts. Makes the work much more enjoyable.

I've got a big old Onkyo stereo receiver and some old school speakers sitting on top of my garage cabinets. Something more modern would be cool, but I love that old thing... it has a ton of power! I believe my grandfather bought it in 1980... still works great!
I even hooked up a 3.5mm auxiliary cable with an RCA adapter to the cassette input to I can play music from my phone.

My primary stereo is from the early 70s I think. It was quite good then and I've long ago realised that I'll have to spend a decent bunch to get an actual upgrade so I'm sticking with it. Really pleasant sound and more than enough power to watch films on an apartment. Plus the brushed steel and machined switches look brilliant.

Anything portable is either headphones or a litre bottle sized JBL Bluetooth speaker though.

Older stereos really are a work of art! A lot of stuff today is just a chunk of plastic.
