Car alarm randomly going off on hot days

Post by benpineapple »

Hello! Random odd issue with my '06 V50, which has been progressively getting worse. The car alarm keeps randomly going off, I've noticed typically on hot days when the car is parked in the sun. It's the chime/whistle alarm, not the alarm that also has the horn honking.

My issue is similar to this thread: https://forums.swedespeed.com/showthrea ... e-Required But it is unclear to me if I need to replace an alarm unit, or if it is possible to replace batteries? Seems like people are saying not all alarm units are serviceable.

Has anyone had this issue? How were you able to resolve the issue?

Thanks!

Ben, have you been able to figure this out? What a Gremlin... I imagine it's a ground wire somewhere or a battery issue. The heat gives me pause though... why (or how!) would heat play a role here...
