Just curious, how much for Genuine Volvo? Or is that the 5 to 10 year option for $150? Are the New Volvo calipers the same quality as the factory installed calipers? Just curious? June

On FCP, the genuine calipers are also stated to be remanufactured. Front caliper without mounting bracket $190. Rear caliper with hardware $175. Cost over 3-4 times as much as most rebuilds, but have to wonder if the time saved makes the price tag worth it, assuming at least 10 years of service.

I had a nice 96 850 that met it's demise with a deer 10 years ago. I saved the calipers from it, I finally used one this summer.

I put a reman caliper from O'Reilly's on her Wrangler last November, I only got 8k out of it. The lifetime warranty is real swell but I'm not a fan of changing them out.

Im afraid to say you have to go Volvo for brakes if you plan on keeping the car and don't like doing calipers every 2 years.

Definitely harvest your caliper pins and don't return them if they don't stick to a magnet. Roll up Aluminum foil and stuff that in the hole - if they deny your core charge tell them thats what they ship back as 'reman'
I've recently replaced some brake calipers and bought the TRW brand. It has the Volvo logo on the calipers so I assume Volvo uses TRW as their OEM brake supplier?

I've seen many moreATE brand marks on Volvocalipers but they can have many vendors in the supply chain.

AtE ( Teves) , Bosch, TRW,

Didn't Teves have that hit single it he 70s?

It only takes a minute, girl, to change your calipers?

They can hammer back on the vendor if the product is crappy and limit their exposure. Ultimately, when the Volvo ones are 175 USD and the rebuilts are $40, the buyer bears some culpability, too.
