This was one I bought and a quick look under the timing belt cover to verify it had been done recently as marked caused me to figure I was ok for awhile. Cost me a motor.

Did that seize up and strip the timing belt?

Sorry to see the seized pump.
Any idea how long the pump had been in use? Is there a date code on the body of the pump?
1997 855 GLT (Light Pressure Turbo) still going strong. Previous: 1986 240 GL rusted out in '06, 1985 Saab 900T rusted out in '95, 1975 Saab 99 rusted out in '95, 1973 Saab 99 rusted out in '94

And what's that cheese on the impeller? Did someone try coolant stop leak on it maybe?

If they did, that could explain the bearing going south... Assuming the pump wasn't the leak point to begin with...
