I have a 1995 960 with a cracked head. I also have a 1993 960 engine with 96,000 miles.
Can I put the 93 engine in the 95 car?

The '93 is a B6304FS and the '95 is a B6304FS2.
The '93 B6304FS will bolt right in but they have different cams and the torque curves are different. The '93 will not be as responsive as the '95 in the low RPMs (lower torque) but it has 24 more hp in the higher rpms.

And timing belt life and the width of the timing belt are different. Can't tell you if the wiring harness and sensors are different. Seems I've heard there are a few changes.

One thing that might cause a problem. Volvo changed the cams in '95 to keep up with emission regulations in a pre-VVT world. Georgia's emissions regulations require a TSI test or an Accelerated Simulation Mode (ASM2) test for model years 1995-2016.
