My faithful 98 v70t5m stranded me in NYC a few weeks ago. What was a bad voltage regulator (which is nothing serious) has grown into an endless code parade. The car drives well enough but I know its not happy.
What started out as a bad voltage regulator and then a faulty replacement has now plagued me. The bad replacement has been replaced and and the charging systems tests fine. However, I now have the following codes. FYI, I have removed the sas system. so I sure these codes are for that: 445, 541, 616, 447.
The following showed after the first bad replacement regulator and have stayed since the volt reg issue was corrected.
242 tc control valve (I replaced turbo control valve and no change) or is this a temperature control valve?
521, 522, 212 are related to front and rear O2 sensors. (both have been replaced and no change)
214 RPM sensor which may be the cam sensor ( I haven't checked yet)
New abs codes abs 443, and 33, 43 which my autel scanner says "refer to service manual", however the abs is working good and I have no tracs or abs dash lights.
and finally...
CI-221 VVS signal missing,
CI-132 RPM signal missing
I'm guessing I have a bad cam sensor or connection.
The car is idling a little rough and will sometimes buck at low rpms in 1st.
I also have swapped the ard ecu out an dput in the original stock one. same codes come up.
HELP.
thx
michael

I did clear the codes and here's the order from the oem stock ecu (not ard tuned). remember I removed the SAS.
445, 242, 541, 616, 447, 521, 522, 212, 214
abs-443, 33, 43
CI-221, CI-132
I'm wondering if the bad voltage regulator messed up my ecu's?
thx,
m

If voltage regulator output went over 15 or 16v there is a possibility that it fried ecu or those components which are complaining.

It never went higher than 14.3 It was not putting out enough is battery was dying. 1st replacement had a short and also drain the battery.
current one working good. however, low voltage can screw up electronics too.
