95 850 GLT Blue Tooth?

My car is all stock, with one exception I have an Alpine 6 CD changer in the trunk I had installed many years ago.

Is there a way to install a Blue Tooth receiver/ device that doesn’t rely on those radio oriented Blue Tooth receivers so that I may listen to streaming music from my phone, be it Spotify etc?

The radio-oriented versions are that good once a radio station interferes with it.

I suspect the CD changer is connected through an Aux-in port behind the head unit.

Is it possible to keep the use of my CD player in some fashion?

I built a ‘splitter’ that shares the audio in lines and switches between the changer and a yatour -via a selector switch in the console arm rest - that plugs into the changer port.
You can only use a Grom or Yatour type device for Bluetooth as the head unit only accepts the audio coming in after it ‘talks’ to the changer and/ or Yatour/Grom via a ‘handshake’ data exchange. I haven’t found any thing commercially available that does the same.

If your handy with a soldering iron and arts n’ crafts it’s all pretty simple
If you want I could draw up some sort of how to?

Thanks for responding. I would definitely appreciate a “how to”. I’m a visual learner more so when it comes to cars. If I can’t visualize it, I can’t do it hah.

Curious, do I need to remove the radio/cassette unit?

I didn’t install my CD changer, so any help is good.

Oh, your not using the changer?
If your not using your changer then you just need a Grom from IPD or a Yatour from EBay ( use your head unit model (SC-***) when ordering...)
You’d only need my splitter if you wanted both changer and Bluetooth . My splitter box will live behind the radio, so before you start make sure you have radio code. The box simply plugs in between head unit , changer and Yatour. With some wiring to an easily reachable switch. Mines all hidden so looks stock, I’m not a fan of cutting or altering an interior.

Well I'm not using it currently, but I'd like to. But, I didn't know if I could use blue tooth, AND use the CD player. Or does the CD player need to be removed etc?

I do have the radio code. I'd be super interested in this box of yours.

I’ll sit down in the weekend and take some photos with a write up, might make a new post so it’s easier to find in a search. It means you can have the two seperate inputs without retro fitting cables into your factory radio so, retaining the tape player for those Derek and Clive* tapes that never made it to CD.

*Derek and Clive = Dudley Moore and Peter Cooke (Adults Only )
Look it up if that sort of British humour works for you...
