How could I learn the color code?
Color code is on the ID plate inside the engine bay, driver's side fender. Here is an MVS thread with mediocre pic of the plate, lots of pics online if you search. viewtopic.php?t=25020

Thanks for this I’ll look tonight or tomorrow. I never knew the code was there

Yeah it’s not blue, nor that olive green, it’s the blue-green, like turquoise from a crayola box of 64

Green is one of the bad colors for all makes that fade and peel. You are down to the bare plastic not just clear coat. My suggestion is too remove the all the paint and coat it either black sheen or just another clear coat. If you paint both and the rest of the car is not in great condition (paint) they will stand out quite a bit.

Actually the car’s paint is in immaculate condition. No rust, peeling or bubbling etc

That’s why I’m stumped on this.
Most paints will hold up if it is well taken care of as in the case of yours. Perhaps there were issues with the formulation for the mirrors themselves or someone did not prep that well during manufacturing. Toyota Sienna's are notorious for shade and hue differences in the newer models of the bumpers and body (plastic and metal).

Yours will require all the paint to be removed. Some may suggest blend sanding which is difficult to do and is time consuming. Perhaps a cover if there is such a thing for your model year.

Mirror cover?

Painting Only

Get the numbers and post them here.

My guess is 422 Turquoise pearl.

I took a look. The color code is 412-22

The 4 looks like a triangle more than a 4 though

Turqouise pearl is completely different, it is a blue that no one with color vision will mistake for a green.

412 is tropic green metallic. The link I gave you also includes all of the paint colors.

Thanks- I didn’t see the rest at the time. Nice resource thank you

Curious - is there way to learn the color code of the leather seating in my car?

Thought it may not matter as I heard Volvo doesn’t sell leather.

412 Verdigris / Tropic Green metallic is my color

You’d be surprised how many people say it’s blue!

Now that you know the paint code and name. You can head to the local PPG dealer and have them mix you a rattle can of
Volvo 412 Verdigris / Tropic Green metallic and then repaint your mirrors.

The Interior code is the number right above the paint code.
You have 3980 which is Oak.

Oak? Odd because the leather is almost the color of the body paint- always has been. Definitely not any shade of tan or brown etc

Somebody may of swapped interiors. How about a picture of the interior.

PS: Found the 850 interior code breakdown. 3980 breaks down as

850, Leather, Light Gray, standard.

Volvo 850 upholstery code.
First digit: Car model, in case of the 850 it’s always a 3.

Second digit: Upholstery:
2 – tricot & plush
3 – tricot
5 – plush (with vinyl sides)
6 – velours
7 – plush & leather
8 – leather & suede (alcantara)
9 – leather

Third digit: Color:
3 – blue
4 – red
5 – beige
6 – light beige
7 – gray & dark gray
8 – light gray

Fourth digit: Serial number or variation number. In most cases it’s a 0. Special versions of the upholstery can have an other number here.
