Does he do alignments, I've just completed frontend.and am looking for good alignment shop, There are many Mavis/Sts shops by me, but I've had a bad experience with them. I'd buy tires there, but wouldn't let them work on any of my vehicles.

I buy a lot of tires from DT. I have two heavy horse trailers, a 36 foot tandem axle trailer, a 40 foot tandem axle trailer, 3 duallies, and two SUVs. I always buy their warranty certificates, even buy them for new units with the OE tires since they will sell that to you. I was so tired of all the crooked suspension upselling by NTB, and others around were not competitive and couldn't back the tires with lots of locations where I wander. DT has not been perfect but they have been very good. I use those warranties a lot. Heavy trailers do not survive punctures, the tire gets low and overheats and tread flies off. I hardly ever wear out a set of tires on those trailers without two replacements and some have had more.
I can't figure out why they would not repair the tire if the puncture was not outside the tire contact area. Did they not offer some explanation of that? Was there a bubble (delamination or vulcanizing failure) at the puncture site?

I say vote with your feet - If you do not get satisfactory experience, take your business another place. After scratched wheels, over tight lug nuts and body damage from lifts and jacks, I do not let tire shops do any more than mount tires. I remove the wheels at home and take them to the tire shop for new tire mounting. I have used the tire repair plugs many times with success. The instructions do caution not to use the plugs on the tire shoulder.

Prorated warranties are a scam that the big chain tire stores use to make sure they get you back in the store to spend some more money. Good chance your tire could have been patched but I’ll bet the store made it sound like “it HAD to be replaced and since you were smart enough to purchase the warranty it will ONLY cost you $58”.
I prefer to purchase tires online and then pay some little independent tire store $40 or $50 to mount all four.

I got a call back last night at 7p which I couldn't get to. Voicemail, no name given, with a number that goes to... store sales. Ugh.

So I just got off the phone again with regional who doesn't know anything about the call last night, explained my story again, and they said, you guessed it, they'd call back after they looked at it.

I'm angry at myself more than DT, although they deserve some criticism. If I'm shelling out more than $10 or $15, I might as well get a 5th tire/wheel. That's my conclusion. Or at $10, a simple flat repair.

I should have not gone back to them, but like I said I figured there was some good reason for doing it by the book, because these tires are new.

Tire Rack to buy, and Palma's for mounting here on out.

Yep. This is what I really dislike about the whole thing. Not the waiting, the failed call promises over two weeks, etc. It's this "It had to go back to Continental" BS. It was the simplest slow leak screw in the tread, not some exotic failure.

No explanation. I wish I'd taken a photo. Would they be selling these out the back door after hours? It's a $50-75 tire patched.
