Nice progress man, wish i was a paint and body man. My C70 Convertible was at the mercy of mother nature here in Norther NM last year we had countless hail storms so it ruined several panels before i bought it, i would have had her covered. I figure it will be cheaper to just replace both front fenders, the hood not sure what to do about the sail panels or roof. lol thanks for sharing your progress.

Are you doing it yourself? if so, are you doing the prep? The paint? both?

if you're doing it yourself, what is your background that allows you to do this at this skill level? do you do it professionally or just as a hobby? -A

Looks great!! You will have to give us some tips if you have the time. I just picked up a black v70 with questionable paint. Not a big fan of black anyway, wanted to repaint her red or some burned orange metallic.

No, I am not doing this work myself! I am fortunate enough to have lucked up (back on pick-your-friends day in gradeschool  ) and ended up having a good friend that went into bodywork and painting.

I've been in love with this car since I got it a few years back and have been slowly bringing her up to spec since then. I've got a long list of repairs, as well as upgrades, that I've done personally. However, even though, after a good compound and waxing, the original enamel paint would REALLY come back, I have always longed to have all the little dings and damage around the body fixed and have the paint seriously POP!

So, I finally pulled the trigger and got her stripped down and pulled over to my buddy's shop. I am doing all the prep and painting on the trim/molding work but he'll be handling all the bodywork prep and painting, other than anything I can help with.

I'm sticking with the Volvo 601 "Classic Red." If she was a turbo model (still in search for  ) I think I may have gone something crazy like a lime green or electric blue.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions and will add the additional photos as the work progresses! I believe we may have her done today or tomorrow actually, but we'll see...
