A friend with the HF mounting/dismounting mast says you need to buy plastic mounting tools.
One he mentioned is commonly called the "duck bill".

Another pal had the HF mast. A garage in town would balance a wheel for $5. THOSE were the days.
NOTE: The balancer operator would measure the wheels' rim width at the beads and crank a small wheel with an indicator.
Every time was perfect.

Matt - in my case I have an old skool independent gas station right up the street 4 blocks. He has all Snap-on tools and balancing equipment. He once explained that my bead leak was because the chain store guy slapped on new tires without even wire brushing the bead area to get the gunk off there.

So I buy most of my tires from Tire Rack (unless a local chain store has the particular Continental / Pirelli / Blizzak / whatever) and have him put them on. If I can, I just bring the loose wheels to him.

We used to go to Schwab (a western US chain for you other guys), then my son's cycling teammate's P2 wagon nearly lost its wheels on the freeway after a Schwab guy didn't torque the lugs. Car full of college kids going to a race weekend.

Then instead of them running out to the car smiling, like in the ads, I got dressed down by the mechanic because "Schwab sells (expensive Chinese) tires too, you know." Haven't been back. I've had other chain shops put the wrong tires on the wrong corners even with my big crayon marks right on the sidewalls.
