Volvo 740 right mirror

Dear Everybody,

I have a Volvo 740 GL car from 1990. Unfortunately an idiot came into me and broke my right hand mirror. The mirror glass and the black, plastic rear part of the mirror is also broken. I have to replace both parts.

This mirror is a mirror that contains an electric heater and can be adjusted manually from the inside of the car by a little full-mechanic "joystick".

I thought I will buy a mirror from a junk yard, or maybe I will order via e-bay. My question is, how can I replace the mirror? How can I take it down? Where are screws? How can I bind the bowden of the "joystick? And so on.

Do you know somewhere a repair description? Thank you in advance.

There is a cover over the mirror fixings on the inside of the door. This should just prise off revealing the 3 mounting screws.

Take out the screws and the whole unit will come away from the door, including the Bowden cable. As you have the heated type you will need to disconnect the wires and it may be necessary to remove the inner panel from the door to find the plug. My book is a little vague on this as it describes the manually adjusted mirror without the heater. For the electrically adjusted mirror with the heater the plug is definitely behind the inner panel.
