My IAT, engine coolant and ATF temp sensors show the dead same number in the morning, with no engine yet running. The car sits in the shade in the morning.

How about the ambient air temperature from your scanner and your readout next to your speedometer? All read the same?

It can't be different, it's all digital, no analog noise/interference.

Some Volvos has ambient temp sensors in both mirrors, btw.

My understanding is the ECM ambient temp you get on scanner is in the left mirror on my S60 and the temperature read next to speedometer is from the right door mirror. And the IAT temperature is,from the sensor combined with boost sensor next to the intercooler on the drivers side ON MY S60 CAR! Haven’t looked to see what tranny temp is, don’t recall seeing it with my scanner.
