...from my young neighbor giving it to the scrapyard. Never owned a Volvo btw. Hes had it sitting up for a year with a tarp over it(half-a$$) a d it hasn't moved. He was trying to sell me something else when I asked about the xc90. Long story short - he said the sunroof leaks, it wouldn't crank and hes getting $175 for it from the local scrapyard. I offered him $300 for it bc I figured it was worth a shot to try a d repair it and I enjoy working on cars which is a new development in the last 4-5 years for me. The xc90 cranked right up with a jump and hasn't turned off yet during this week iveowned it. The interior is mostly trash, shopvac'd about 18-20 gallons of water out and will have it under a fan all weekend this coming weekend. Everything works this far and only system messages are for brake failure
It shined up nice and this weekend I'll start really getting into it and seeing where any problems may be. So glad I found this forum because it will be my lifeline from what I've had time to look at it I and thank you all for that. Ill keep everyone updated as I move along, couple of pics for now, more to come
Just saved a 2004 xc90 T5...

How many miles?
Search for my post on sunroof tubing unclog DIY, basically enlarging the hole at the bottom end of the tubing.
I just did front end refresh in my 2005 XC90, the tie rods and endlinks have another 30K life on them. If you want these parts, PM me.

Look up:
- Timing Belt, Aisin WP.
- Thermostat.
- Oil change.
- ATF refresh.
These are the priorities in a neglected vehicle...

Sounds great. 173k on the mileage. Headlights were flickering on and off today without actually turning the switch, taking it to my bosses shop and removing all interior pieces and using a fan for a full 24 hours to help "dry" it out. Also tomorrow will be posting engine pics and a few others with the intent to solicit any and all thoughts on what can be seen through those. I look forward to the work ahead and am pre-thanking all for their help and advice
