Extended Warranty Options, 2004 S80

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Extended Warranty Options, 2004 S80

Post by Knucklehead »

My S80 is at the end of its warranty, and with the electronic problems I've had, I'm seriously considering an extended warranty. Are there less expensive but still reliable alternatives to waltzing into my dealer and handing him my wallet?

Thanks,

 Go on-line, google or yahoo and tpye in Vehicle Warranties...I'd bet there are quite a few to get information from...I'am all the time getting junk mail, lots of it are car warranties.....
If you do select one., be sure to read the 'Very Fine Print', as there is so many things you would think and led to believe covered, that are not....
Might even want to have a lawyer read thru it....I personally don't trust any of them, although I do have the extended on my S80, at least until this coming August....I paid $2400.00 for 2 years/24,000 miles when I bought the car in Aug 2006...Have used it twice, but not any $2400 dollars worth..
If one blows an engine or tranny, then it may come in handy...Good Luck

My other vehicle is a Chevy SSR and I found, through the SSR Fanatics Web site, that some GM dealers are willing to discount extended warranties. I was hoping the same was true of Volvo dealers. I'm not sure I want to sink my money into a third party who is likely to disappear the moment I have a problem.
