Thanks everyone. I haven't tried to intall Vadis again yet - due to the time it takes - but I am more optimistic with all your help and experience. I'll keep you posted.

Yep, looks like the last version of VADIS made. After that they went to VIDA. As one poster on that site said, read the "readme" file This is very important...it will have installation directions...if you screw them up, the download is worthless.

Its VADIS 2005A and all appears to be installing correctly so far .

Then it's not the latest (although old now) as there was a 2005D I believe. Between A and D, just a couple of months and minor changes...most of the changes were to the 2005 vehicles so no biggie there.

Glad you got it working! I would pin this but not sure how legitimate posting a download site for this software would be. Probably won't stay there for long either, so if anyone wants a copy of VADIS, download a Torrent Client and then go for it...now's your chance.

As its an old out of use system I cant see the harm personally although Volvo may see it differently lol .

I mentioned I was thinking of buying VADIS to the Service Manager at my local Volvo dealer, but was concerned about the legality of it. His reply was to the effect that Volvo weren't bothered as it was no longer in use.

That is why Volvo have not tried to stop the rash of sellers on eBay.

It is useful for repairs for the newer vehicles but is as much use as a chocolate fireguard for the older types.
