My question is about my transmission fluid cooling pipes. They're 3 that connect to my radiator, 2 that go from radiator to transmission (send line/return line) and one that just goes from radiator to the little oil cooler between the radiator and the intercooler, which is the one that is leaking.
I have the metal kind,?copper?, and the fitting where it connects to the radiator is cracked, so the threaded fitting won't go all the way on, meaning it's not keeping the 2 pipe ends tight enough together to keep fluid from leaking.I have searched for the pipes, impossible to find. All the choices seem to be rubber lines, and mine aren't rubber. They are pre-shaped metal pipes and I don't know if any other kind would work.
The pipe that leaks is the upper one, the 'top' one, on the radiator. It runs down to the oil cooler behind the radiator and is connected there the same way as on the radiator...a metal fitting going over a flared end pipe.I see no way to get the broken one off other than cutting it off, but what about getting a new one on...they don't (the fittings)just slide off when you disconnect the pipe, they're closed at the end so when it's on tight it holds pressure on the flared end of pipe to keep it tight on the other one.
Any idea's on where to find the pipes as a whole?
How to find just the fittings AND how to get them off/on?
What about replacing w/rubber lines?
Thanks

If you are fortunate enough to have a good bone yard nearby that has Volvo's, best bet is to try to locate a part. I use Pinkey's in Milwaukee, Wi and they send me stuff all the time. If interested, I can give you a number.
Other choices are to flare a piece of tubing to fit the connector and then slightly flare the free end and use a piece of transmission hose and clamp it to the end. Have to slightly flare the opposite end too. It does work as I added an aux. transmission cooler to my 93 940T. The newer models do not have cooling for transmission and engine that is as good as the older models.
Hope this helps.

Unfortunetley the boneyard option is out, I've tried the 3 that are within 100 miles of me, and there's not 5 Volvos between' em!
At the local part stores they look at me like I'm speaking Dutch when I say Volvo.?
I'm knee deep in Chevy/Ford/Dodge Truck land and miss the abundance of available local parts I had in Colorado(where I bought it and drove it the first 6 months).
The option of using trans. hose to clamp on to the existing pipe might be my only option.
It's tight enough now to only leak a few drops during a drive, but some of those drops hit the fan, then hit hot parts of the engine and make the leak seem/smell worse than what it is.
I check the fluid on every drive, and it loses about 1/2 quart every 2 weeks ,doing 20-30 miles a day.
None the less, it's currently my only leak(knock wood) so I want to make it right.
Thanks for the advice.
