By the way, old Bose speakers... that 900 series floorstanders can sound very good, if that's what they are, BB.

I went to the basement to look. They are 501 II, max 100 watts, and it says 4 ohms on one lead connector. About 2' tall, walnut and cloth, heavy. What would it take to drive those?

Got a 23000 BTU kerosene heater. More than enough to heat up the garage, way more...

I would think most any of the old receivers or boom boxes would be able to drive these speakers. Now, if you want to wake the people in the next block, then you need the full power rating of these speakers.

My car is in repair for a radiater presently.
I insulated my walls and ceiling with pink foam and have a 23k kero heater but find it's still very cold in there. Maybe I'd need to run the heater a few more hours. Northern Maine is just brutal now.
I'm paying the mechanic this time maybe try myself next time around.
In winter it's the cold.
Summer it's the biting flies.
There's about 3 days before the flies hatch and temps are above zero Kelvin.

On Thanksgiving I was camping along Telos road, it was 11 F + wind in the morning. Awesome weather, no humans, no black flies, don't know, why you complain =)

- One thing about kerosene heater is to have a C.O. detector around just in case.

- I used to be able to handle garage temp of 5-10C for 6-8h. I am getting older, so garage temp needs to be 12-15C, and I wear a hat to reduce risks of headache.

- I admire the mechanics who work in ghetto indy shops, it is cold in the winter. The dealer service areas look like Taj Mahal lol...

You guys complain about your cold garage that 23k BTU is incapable to heat. When I work on my car in my tiny Boston suburb garage long enough I heat it up to a comfortable temperature just by my breathing.

Now now, everyone’s perception of cold is different.

Kinda like when we go to Phoenix to visit my sisters in what they call “winter”. They’re all huddled together in their wool around a fake LP fireplace & we’re sitting by the pool wearing bathing suits.
