We are in the two month period where our days in upstate NY don't get above freezing, so most of my garage activity is oil checks and changes. Anything major and the car sits unless I get a good weather reprieve.

As a <10 years old boy I was walking 800 meters to school at a 240 degrees Kelvin temperatures regularly. When the temperatures were dropping more, we had no school, but everyone was outside playing in snow.

When I work on my car in my tiny Boston suburb garage long enough I heat it up to a comfortable temperature just by my swearing.

Fixed that to reflect my garage.

And Mr Jones....it depends of how many layers of pink foam, if it's only 2". N Maine sounds like it needs more! Polyiso is currently the most efficient insulation readily available.


My electricity doesn't arrive until late Jan 2, so no heat yet. However, it will be 45 here tomorrow. My son and I are moving into my M-I-L's big garage to change his Land Rover air suspension distribution valve blocks and the drier on the compressor pump. Her garage has air blowing through it, but it's dry and tall and we have extension cords.

I worked outside most of today about 50 F, cloudy, and little wind. Southern Oklahoma is mild most of winter months. No Volvo work today, but used '83 245 to haul wheels and tires to store and back. New tires were for '01 Mercedes which also got new rear brake pads. I have two shops and a garage, but no heaters and I usually don't have space inside to work anyway. I am thinking more about a shop air conditioner for the 100 F summers here. Maybe a swamp cooler. Everyone know what that is?
