2005 XC90 T-5 AWD performance statistics 0-60

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

2005 XC90 T-5 AWD performance statistics 0-60

Post by Carriker0hana6 »

i just bought a used 05 XC90 T-5 AWD (with 30K on the odo) and got clocked by one of Hawaii's finest  going 63 mph in less than 3/10 of a mile from a dead stop. With my family of 7 in the car no less.

is this even possible in my vehicle? if i can find the quarter mile time somewhere, i can probably break it down to an estimated speed at 3/10 of a mile -- anyone have any better ideas?

i'm gonna beat this $200 ticket!

mahalo in advance.

1/4 mile, sec @ mph 16.99 @ 82.0 for a 2003. The engine specs I'm 99% sure are the same as a 2005, that is, 208hp.

So the performance of the XC90 won't help you, I'm afraid. Technically you could have been going well over 82mph at the 3/10ths mark. :-(

still don't think i was - but i guess i'll have to find another approach.

thanks for the quick response.

is it the same for AWD and FWD you think?

now i have to subtract the 311 feet he said he shot me at, and estimate the speed at 1/4 mile minus 311 feet.

this is like a middle school math problem ... better get my 7th grader to help! lol

FWD will be faster - 200 lbs. or so lighter, everything else being equal. Unless "launching" is problematic on the FWD models, and AWD has an advantage. But we're splitting hairs there.
